Basic Usage

This tool allows you to easily wear nail textures created using Minuet_Doll’s
【販売OK!】シェアできる汎用ジェルネイルチップ『MDollnail』【VRChat】.

Our shop’s products include 3D models, nail textures, and pre-set materials, so you can use them by purchasing our products only.

In general, you should be able to use it just by referring to this section, but if errors occur or you want to know more details, please refer to the next section, “Detailed Explanation for Each Screen“.

1. Be sure to check and agree to the terms of use on Booth before purchasing the product.
   *Please note that returns after purchase cannot be accepted due to Booth specifications.
2. Download and import the required shader “lilToon” into Unity.
3. Download the data starting with “Main” and import all the unity packages inside the zip file.
4. Import An-Labo NailTool via VCC.
5. Please set the language.

6. Prepare the avatar you want to wear the nail on in the hierarchy.
   *It will also work as a prefab.
7. Drag and drop the avatar prepared in step 6 onto the avatar field.
8. Make sure that the original avatar name of the avatar you want to use is displayed in the compatible avatars field.
   
9. If you are using shape keys where the position of the toe nails or fingernails changes, such as for high heels, please specify the variation.
   *If you don’t have the variation you want to use, click here to contact us.
10. Select the thumbnail of the nail you want to wear. Items that are darkened are not imported.
    Click “Enlarge View” at the bottom to narrow down the conditions or make selection easier. *Currently under preparation.
11. Please select the shape, variation, and color of the nail. The nail displayed at the top is the current selection of shape, variation, and color.
    Please note that the nail shape is based on Oval, so please use Oval if you are unsure.
12. If you want to wear nails on your feet, check “Foot Nail” and check other detailed settings.
13. Finally, click the “Wear Nail” button to wear it.

“Language”

You can choose between “日本語” and “English”.

“Avatar”

You can use the selection items after selecting an object with the “VRC Avatar Descriptor” component.
It is assumed that you will drag and drop the avatar in the hierarchy.

“Compatible Avatars”

Displayed in the order of shop name/avatar name/version.
*Version is displayed only if available.

When automatically selected, it will normally be the regular version, so please change it if you want to select shape keys like HighHeel or A-Stance/T-Pose.

If the version is “-“, it does not support shape keys, etc.

We also accept requests for shape key support, so please feel free to contact us if you want to wear nails while wearing high heels, etc.

Note that in English, the shop name is displayed as the shop domain.

“Select Nail”

By selecting the thumbnail of the nail you want to wear, a preview of the nail will be displayed. Nails that you own are displayed in color, while nails that you do not own are grayed out.

Normally, your owned nails are sorted first, followed by the latest nails, and the last worn nail will be at the top.

Also, clicking “Enlarge View” will take you to the nail selection screen. For more information about the nail selection screen, click here.

“Nail Shape”

You can choose from “Natural”, “Oval”, “Point”, and “Square” nail shapes.

We design using Oval as the basic shape in our shop, so please use Oval if you’re unsure.

“Variation”

Some nails have variations that you can specify. Please use them if there are multiple variations available.

“Nail Color”

Only currently available colors are displayed.

“Set for Each Finger”

By checking this box, you can change the nail design or color for each finger.

“Foot Nail”

By checking this box, you can wear nails on your toes.

Detailed Settings

◆”Remove Original Nail”
Default: On

If you already have nails worn with this tool, they will be removed before wearing the new ones. If you want to attach and detach multiple nails in VRChat using ExpressionMenu, etc., uncheck this box and use it.

◆”Generate Material”
Default: On

This item determines whether materials generated for each nail will be generated each time they are worn. Unless you want to enjoy the nail color common to all avatars or specify it here, please use it with the default setting on.

◆”Backup”
Default: On

A backup will be kept in Assets/[An-Labo.Virtual]/An-Labo Nail Tool/Backup .
Please use it with the default setting on as much as possible.

◆”Wear with ModularAvatar”
Default: Off

Add a component for ModularAvatar and place the nails directly under the avatar.
If you are using an avatar with ModularAvatar, please check here and use it.

◆”Directly Specify Material”

You can wear the nail by directly specifying the material for MDollnail here.
If you are using MDollnail materials that are not compatible with this tool, please specify them here.

“Wear Nail”

Wear the nail.

“Remove Nail”

Use this when you want to remove the nail.

FAQ

Avatars Not Listed in Compatible Avatars / Unsure How to Update

Some avatars require an update to the tool.
Click on Manage Project next to the project you want to update in VRChat Creator Companion (VCC), then click on Latest Version next to An-Labo NailTool and download the latest version.

Original Avatar’s Nails Showing / Original Avatar’s Nail Color Standing Out

Modifying the texture of the original avatar’s nails to match the skin color will alleviate this issue.

Thumb of Lapwing’s Nails Not Moving Correctly

Due to Lapwing’s specifications, additional settings are required.
Move the nails of both hands’ thumbs from under Thumb3Dummy to under Thumb3.

Nails Not Following the Toes of Kuronatsu

After using the tool, nails will be placed inside Armature, under Toe.L(R). Move each nail to the corresponding bottom layer of the toe to align the nails with the movement of the toes. (Please place the thumb under big toe.L(R).001)
